-ORDERING
-

Please give me a call to order. - Signs generally take about a week to produce
As every sign is so different, I like to talk to the
customer during the order process and for that reason I don't have these hand
carved signs on the site shopping cart. Jot down the Style # you are
interested in and give me a call.....Tom
The signs take me 4-5 days to make and seal and get ready to
put into the mail.
-CONSTRUCTION
-
Each board is different with grain and
color - no two boards alike.
I start with solid Kiln dried Redwood and Cedar and hand carve
your wording onto the board. To achieve the darkened background sections
to contrast with the beauty of the Redwood grain, I use a dying process to
permanently color the wood. After completion, the sign is
sealed with two coats of UV protection interior / external polyurethane to protect the sign.
You don't have to worry about wind, rain, or sun.
I offer two choices of color for the darkened
background, a traditional Black, or a Hunter Green.
Both look very nice and it is a matter of taste. I use stock 4, 6 and 8
inch tall lumber, length is only restricted by ability to ship, but a 36 inch
length is a good rule of thumb for longer custom signs.
These hand carved signs are meant to have that country or more ruralish look,
and look hand carved. I also make these types of signs using clean cut sign
vinyl and redwood
-SIGN INSTALLATION
-
DO NOT TAKE YOUR ELECTRIC
DRILL AND START PUTTING IN SCREWS. If
you want to use screws you first have to drill pilot holes slightly
larger than the nail or screw you wish to use. This way the wood will
not split and will expand and contract with your weather conditions over
the years. These signs look very nice hanging from hooks and eyes,
or stacked on chains. Pre-drill small pilot holes on the top edge
prior to screwing in hooks and eyes for hanging.
