NOTE: - These pieces are made to the exact measurements of the original furniture patterns that appeared in the French publication "La Semaine de Suzette". All painted items are made from solid MDF manufactured wood, sanded smooth, and painted with a coat of primer, then two coats of antique white, and finished with clear satin lacquer. Painted items take longer for me to make, so please allow 7-10 days to have the items ready for shipping.

HISTORY

"Bleuette, the little doll from the French magazine for girls, La Semaine de Suzette, published from 1905 to 1960 had patterns for furniture throughout this time period. The “Fairy Tale” bedroom set in 1934 (Cinderella nightstand, Seven League Boots chair, Sleeping Beauty dressing table) and the Red Riding Hood bed in 1937 was the most complete set. Translating the original patterns for cardboard furniture into wood here are the first three pieces of the set, the nightstand, the chair and the bed. The dressing table is a work in progress. The decorations, which were to be painted onto the painted cardboard furniture, have been printed as decals so that your furniture will have all the flavor of the originals. A separate Jack and the Beanstalk decal for the sides of the Art Deco open wardrobe, which can be used with this furniture is also available. This furniture can be used for any doll from 10” to 11.5”. "...... Thanks to Agnes Sura, editor of Bleuette's World Online for the above short history and the help and support in creating this section. We are attempting to recreate actual pieces that have not been seen or available since the 1930's. Here is an example picture of what we had to work with, Scan of original drawing. Agnes re-created the actual designs in color and has produced them in sheets of decals to decorate the furniture. The example pictures located on this page, recreate the suggested decal placements from the magazine. This Art Deco section deviates somewhat from my normal Victorian theme, but it was (is) a fun historical project. Should there be sufficient interest, I will add more pieces in the future. I also want to thank Jane G. and Pat D. for their introduction of the French Bleuette Doll and it's history to me .
