NOTE: - I currently offer the following
many styles of Home exterior Victorian Gingerbread brackets. All are hand
made and consist of your
choice of solid 3/4 inch thick or a full one inch thick high quality
manufactured wood. These are strong clean brackets that will not warp or lose
their shape over the years. As a base coat of primer is so important, I
apply each one with a good oil based primer and ship to you ready to accept your
custom house paint. I have some painting ideas listed at the bottom of this page. This
is a really fun project and a great way to dress up your front or back porch. Custom sizes also available for all porch brackets...call

-BRACKET INSTALLATION 101- Step one: - The brackets come with just a coat of primer. Why? Because I could never match the paint of your house here on my end. By painting the pieces in your contrasting house colors and trim, you achieve a clean nice look. First measure the porch or corner where you want to put a bracket. I always check to make sure the brackets are at a 90 degree angle before they leave. You may find your house corner has shifted over time. Not to worry as any wood putty will fill in any empty spaces.Step Two: - Select from the list above the design and size that best fits with your plans and remember the brackets can be put up in either direction. Step Three: - When they arrive, paint and allow to dry overnight. I always put on a coat of primer here so they are very easy for you to paint. Use your exterior house paint. Step Four: - Paint again as needed for second color. Step Five: - Now here is the tricky part. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ELECTRIC DRILL AND START PUTTING IN SCREWS. If you want to use screws you first have to drill pilot holes slightly larger than the nail or screw you wish to use. This way the wood will not split and will expand and contract with your weather conditions. I prefer to use a wood glue and tape them in place overnight. In the morning remove the tape. |

I want you to know that my husband and I are so very impressed with your craftsmanship! The brackets are beautifully designed and executed. You completed the order in an amazing time, as well. Since this e-mail address was handy, I used it, but I will try to get back to your website to see if there's a place for testimonials. If there isn't, be sure to add one! My son-in-law is a builder - specializing in renovations and additions - and I already forwarded your website to him. Porches are HUGE right now on Cape Cod where we live, and I'm going to get the word out to every builder I know.
Two points to consider: First - You were the least expensive and most creative (in my opinion) bracket website I found. I was looking first at designs, then at cost. Many brackets were $50 and more apiece. My husband was planning on getting ideas and then doing them himself. When we saw your prices, we knew it would cost him much more to make brackets himself, and he hasn't the expertise to execute as intricate design as yours. Second - Your actual shipping cost was more than you charged. I'd guess that isn't equitable. I'd be glad to send you the additional $3. Again - thank you! It's been a rare experience ordering fro Victorian Workshop.
