VICTORIAN GINGERBREAD LARGE BRACKETS

I am getting more and more requests for large...really big brackets.......for use on massive
or larger porches, hotel walkways, gazebo finishing, and
arbors. I wanted to put up an information type page here to help with your
questions. I get a lot of phone calls that ask if a particular bracket design can be made larger. Yes I can do it to almost any size.
What I need is for you to measure your spot and give me the total either length going down or width going across. I then blow up the
pattern to match that one dimension which enlarges the pattern as a whole and gives me the other dimension. I am including
an example below of a recent order for a
large gazebo where the customer needed a really large set of brackets for a twenty foot Victorian gazebo they are building.
Here is an example picture to show scale. This is bracket # B-27.
This pictures shows my standard bracket 13 3/8 long by 11 inches wide next
to a large bracket of the same design to sort of give you a visual scale.
All large brackets are
shipped with a coat of white primer for painting and are one inch thick.
The customer needed this bracket where the top width, or short side, was extended from 11 inches to 18 inches. This made the long
end about 21 inches. Now
for the detail part ....cost. Each custom project is a little different, but plan on about a $10.00 set up charge
on something really different and as an example the
really large bracket listed here would run about $35.00 each. They take twice as long to prep, make, sand, etc., and use
three times the wood. After I have the dimension I can estimate the weight and provide shipping costs. Again as an example, the large
bracket listed here weighs about 2 1/2 pounds. I realize this is not an inexpensive project for you. But if you need it done,
I can do it. Time wise, give me about a week to ten days to make and ship.

I am also listing below the layered option as well as an idea. Add about $10.00 per bracket for a layered three piece unit.
LAYERED OPTION - These fancy
brackets are designed for
people looking for a layered unit. The outside skins are a full 1/4 inch. For large brackets I use a solid 3/4 core inch for a total
thickness of 1 1/4 inches.
EXAMPLE PAINTING PICTURES ARE LISTED BELOW WITH PAINTING COLOR EXAMPLES All of the Fancy
Layered Brackets on this page consist of three parts. The two outer 1/4 inch skins and the solid 3/4 inch
core for a total thickness of 1 1/4 inches. They are shipped pre-primed with a coat of good white paint primer. Paint the
sections in your custom house colors, glue and clamp together and they are ready to install. Truly an ornate Victorian touch for your 'Painted
Lady' project.

For this example I used an antique white over the one inch core with a sage green on the outside skins.

For this example I painted the flat part of the center core a pale yellow leaving the outer strip antique white.

left the sage green highlights around the edges for our completed bracket.
