	Sign Style #SB-900 This is a one line signboard design and example pictures here are of a 19 inch sign. I can stretch them quite large.  Shown here using  English Town  as a font on a painted antique white backboard.  For this type of sign, depending on size, plan on approx. $35-$75 depending on size. - Example Picture -
	Sign Style #SB-901 Ornate backboard - This is a beautiful Victorian backboard.  Two piece sign board hand made shown here with the top section painted black to match black lettering.  Sign pictured here is approx. 15 inches long, I can go to about 30 inches for a quite large sign.  Shown here using  Raphael Standard Font top and Kelly Ann Font bottom.  Painted antique white backboard.   For this type of sign, depending on size, plan on approx. $60-120   - Example Picture -
	Sign Style #SB-902 This is a one line design available in either a solid or clear background.  Examples shown left ...top - Kelly Ann Font..... middle English Town Font.    Bottom - Raphael Standard Font.   As a guide, for this size sign plan on about $35- 75  depending on size.
	Sign Style #SB-903 .  Shown here a 12 inch long sign designed as a door plaque using Kelly Ann as a font on a natural birch backboard made in two pieces with the top portion painted black to match the black vinyl  lettering.  For this type of sign, depending on size.....plan on approx. $35-$75 depending on size.   I can make this type of sign up to about 30 inches long which will allow for use as a two line sign.

Over the years I have done quite a bit for Victorian and Country Bed and Breakfast Inns. Find below a few lettering examples that I have worked with that come out quite stunning.

NOTE: no two  boards are alike as grain and color patterns vary.  Can also be done on a painted backboard with colored lettering.  This is a striking sign.  Example signboard pictured right - 11 1/2 inches by 24 inches. - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: -

What comes first - the lettering design or the signboard backboard design?  That's a good question.  Personally, I like to do the lettering design first and then pick a backboard design that compliments the lettering but it is a matter of preference.  I have included several examples on this page to sort of get your ideas flowing.  Give me a call and I will design a nice sign with a Victorian flair for you..  I have hundreds of backboard shapes....Tom

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Every sign is quite custom, I like to have a week to ten days.  The more painting involved the longer the drying times.  For a typical sign there is a day or two of prep, priming that takes a couple of days, then the two coats of color and final assembly and sealing.  I'm not lazy, I just like to take the time to do these things right and allow things to dry properly.

I HAVE A CUSTOM GRAPHIC I WANT TO USE If you want to use your own graphic I need your custom graphic in either .EPS or .AI vector format.  If you have a good jpg type of image, they can be converted but the process can cost from $50-100.  I have access to thousands of ready to use vector graphics, give me a call and I can let you know if I have something close.

HOW BIG CAN YOU GO? The fancier the sign board the more I have to rely on my fret saw to produce it.  There is a 30 inch limit on what I can run through this type of saw.  Also we start to run up against shipping costs.  I can produce larger signs, but the backboard has to be a more standard type of square or oblong type of board with rounded corners.  A 30 inch sign is a pretty good sized sign though and works quite well in most applications.

WHY JUST VICTORIAN SIGNS? I can of course produce anything or any type of sign, but we are 'the Victorian Woodshop' so I try to stick with that theme and offer something you just can't find anywhere else.  I can't tell you how many times I hear that the local sign shop just "doesn't get it " when trying to discuss Victorian signs.  I get it.

COST? Generally signs run from about $35 all the way to about $125.  It just depends on what you want.  Size, Design, Graphics,  material, painting it all figures in.  I can say we will be well less than half the price of your local sign shop.  I just charge my standard woodworking rate time when making signs.

DO YOU CHARGE TO DESIGN A SIGN FOR ME? No.  Here is how it works.  Take a look around my sign pages, get some rough ideas of what you want.  Measure your spot, decide on your colors and give me a call.  It helps if you are on this page when you call so I can see what you are looking at.  If you have a digital camera and can shoot me a picture of where your sign is going to go that helps too.  Sometimes it is good to have another pair of eyes look at something. HINT: - ...keep it simple....less is more
